Emergency Services

In today’s world, it may be easy to forget that heart attacks, strokes and other medical emergencies happen every day. But they do. Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a heart attack, according to CDC data.

Our Emergency Room Department is open 24 hours and prepared to care for you with a physician always onsite.

Keeping You Safe and Your Loved Ones Safe.

We are taking extra steps to provide you the healthcare services you need in a safe environment.

About Our ER Wait Time

ER wait time is the average wait time for a patient to see a registered nurse during the triage (evaluation) process in our ER. After patients are triaged (evaluated), they are seen by qualified medical professionals in priority order, according to their medical condition and reason for visit. Times are approximate and provided for information purposes only.

At Desert Valley Hospital, we strive to make it easier for you to handle life’s unexpected events. This service is just one more way that we are transforming the healthcare experience.

You’ll notice some changes in how we provide care and service to our patients, visitors and community members:

  • We screen every person who comes into our hospital and emergency room, including staff members. This includes screening for symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and checking temperatures, which are taken using no-contact infrared thermometers.
  • Cloth masks are acceptable, and we will provide masks if you do not have your own.
  • We have reconfigured our hospital and emergency room to keep people with COVID-19 or related symptoms in separate, designated areas and units.
  • Contact with our staff members is limited during your visit.
  • We are using advanced technology to achieve deep-cleaning multiple times a day, following rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
  • Please be assured that our medical team has received extensive training regarding proper COVID-19 precautions and are provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including masks, face shields and gowns. We regularly monitor the latest guidance from the CDC and evolve our policies and procedures to protect our team and serve you.
  • To minimize the number of people in an area, chairs are positioned so that you will be seated a safe physical distance from one another.
  • In accordance with CDC and local recommendations, visitors are still limited to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

Certain medical conditions require immediate medical care. Some symptoms that indicate you should go to the ER include:

  • Bone breaks
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
